Aida Maksut

director of «SSDC» LLP, a certified leading verifier of the company with more than 9 years of experience in the field of monitoring GHG emissions, an expert on climate change and emission trading system in Kazakhstan. During her work in SSDC, she has completed successfully more than 70 verification and validation projects as a head of verification group in the following sectors: energy, oil and gas, chemical industry, mining, manufacturing in terms of production of construction materials. She also completed analytical work for UNDP project on the Development of the National Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the framework of the UNFCCC and the Biennial Report, developed Monitoring Protocol (MRV) for the results of Energy Saving Projects for the UNDP GEF Project- Sustainable cities for low carbon development.

Aida also have been participated as an expert in the World Bank PMR project “Kazakhstan’s fourth National Allocation Plan (NAP) for its national Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) for a post-2020 Paris Agreement Era” Before she established SSDC, she worked in JSC “Zhasyl Damu” the governmental institute responsible for development of ETS in Kazakhstan as an expert on the Kazakhstan ETS . During her work there she has conducted work on development and coordination of National allocation plan for the first period of Kazakhstan ETS, development of legislative acts, documents required for the allocation of GHG certificates, analysis of GHG reports, monitoring plans of regulated companies, provision of explanatory work on the issues related to the ETS to the regulated companies.

Aida holds first class bachelor mechanical engineering degree from the University of Sheffield. She completed different trainings regarding MRV of GHG, including JICA training Course “Capacity Building for Policy staff regarding Kyoto mechanisms and 2017 ICAP training Course on Emission Trading for Emerging Economies and Developing Countries, and other trainings on ISO 14065 and ISO 14064
